Euphony recently announced the release of its latest product, Sound Shadow, an internal STEAM initiative to leverage audio technology in the Art domain. Euphony is a Tech Garden member and participated in the 2016 Germinator program. The company is transforming the text-to-speech industry by modifying the tone and pitch of a synthetic voice. Its audio can reflect emotion, meaning, and intent. Euphony’s authentic voices replace outdated robotic avatars. Sound Shadows apply novel technology to transform a customer's audio recording into a unique, physical sound art experience. A fetal heartbeat, a toddler's first words, favorite quotes, and wedding vows are just a few examples of speech sounds the company's turned into wall art and jewelry. Sound Shadow wants to help people experience sounds they love as real keepsakes. Why not commemorate them as art that can also be played and listened to? "Other sounds we've transformed include a Harley Davidson engine, a Grandpa playing his guitar, a secret baking recipe, even a Cessna aircraft engine," said Fuz Eller, President of Euphony. "Babies laughing have been welcome requests, as has commemorating a favorite dog's bark in a bracelet. We've been most honored to create pieces from a father's last voice mail, plus a musical performance by a much-loved son and brother who passed suddenly.” Sound Shadow analyzes each sound and extracts not just how loudly its played, the waveform image most people would recognize, but also its structure and detail - its sound print. This makes the company unique. "Words are captured exactly as they were pronounced, showing a speaker's (or barker's) individual voice features, which they inherited from their parents. Music pieces show each note and how it propagates through the air. Our customers can purchase a wall art version of their sound, or a bracelet, with more products in the pipe. Each can be played by focusing a smart phone camera at a simple tag, recalling not just the audio, but an animation of the spectrum analysis process so each sound detail is displayed as it’s played. It is so cool getting a customer's response to seeing their sound for the first time. We love connecting people, friends, and family with sounds they love."
