2023 EPIC Buildings Accelerator

The EPIC (Energy Program for Innovation Clusters) Buildings Accelerator is a six-month program providing a variety of services to building hardware startup companies that complement traditional accelerator services. Ten companies will be selected to participate. Accepted companies will receive a monthly 1:1 meeting held virtually with the accelerator staff. The expected start date of the accelerator is March 1, 2023.

Applications are currently open for Cohort 2 of the EPIC Buildings Accelerator, a Clean Tech accelerator providing a suite of business incubation supports to early-mid stage companies targeting energy hardware innovations in grid-interactive and energy-efficient building technologies. This program is offered by CenterState CEO’s NYSERDA Clean Tech Center, in collaboration with the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems (SyracuseCoE), with support from the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Technology Transitions and the Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC), as well as DOE’s Building Technology Office.​

EPIC Buildings Accelerator Participant Opportunities
  • Small-scale summer prototype projects supported by engineering and/or architecture students at Syracuse University. Nominations may be submitted concurrently with Accelerator recruitment.
  • Intellectual property landscape survey study by the Innovation Law Center at Syracuse University. Nominations may be submitted concurrently with Accelerator recruitment.
  • Market analysis research by the Innovation Law Center at Syracuse University. Nominations may be submitted concurrently with Accelerator recruitment.
The program will culminate in a showcase event to be held in conjunction with the SyracuseCoE Innovation Showcase in mid-August.
