Tech Expo Great Success!

Tech Expo 2009  was held at Tech Garden on June 5th with David S. Rose of Rose Tech Ventures kicking-off the first Tech Expo by presenting a motivational, insightful and informative talk entitled Everything You Think You Know....Is Wrong! The presentation focused on how new technologies and business models are changing the world of start-ups. A standing room only crowd then circulated among the sixteen emerging technologies that were showcased at the Expo. Companies exhibiting at Tech Expo included:
• Antek: Low cost silicon hetero-junction solar photo-voltaic cell.
• CampaignBase.com: Software for non-profits, membership groups and political campaigns.
• ClickCare: Telemedicine software service for healthcare collaboration with pictures.
• DistiSuite eCommerce: Online sales and marketing solution for electronics component suppliers.
• e2e Materials: Natural, non-toxic materials to replace chipboard in furniture and construction.
• Geneweave Biosciences: Platform technology using bacteriophages for test kits for bacteria.
• iCone: GPS enabled traffic cones/markers that help manage highway traffic conditions.
• iFyber: Customized nanoparticle based textile treatment for military and medical applications.
• Mezmeriz: Small LCD projection system for cell phone application.
• Oratel Diagnostics: Biotech-based diagnostic enables rapid in-vitro test for endometriosis.
• Prendismo: Provides video content online in a participatory culture such as social networking sites.
• Propulsive Wing: Aerial utility vehicle unmanned airplane and Personal Breeze air purifier system.
• Symphony Video: Ensemble Video, does for business what YouTube does for consumers.
• Veratag: Nanotechnology-based security requiring unique identification and authentication.
• Widetronix: Small, long-life batteries for microelectronics and sensors.
• Zetroz: Groundbreaking, handheld technology that reduces the cost/size of ultrasound devices.

Attendees voted for the technology they believed to be most investible; the overwhelming winner was Zetroz, and $1,000 was awarded to George Lewis, founder.
