01/29/2009

January 26, 2009, Syracuse, NY. The Tech Garden announced today that it has selected 26 New York technology businesses to participate in the Department of Defense Commercialization Assistance Program. The DoD Commercialization Assistance Program focuses on Defense Department Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grant recipients and offers alternative business strategies and targeted industry connections. The 26 companies were picked from over 100 New York small companies that received DoD SBIR/STTR awards within the last five years. The selected companies will also participate in a DoD Opportunity Forum on May 21, 2009 at the OnCenter in Syracuse.

"This new program has been well-received by grant recipients that are interested in taking their technology developments to commercial production. Potential partners and business advisors throughout the state have expressed interest in providing assistance in this effort as well," stated Nasir Ali, president of The Tech Garden.
