Katie Oja- Program Manager
Katie Oja serves as Program Manager for The Tech Garden. In her role as Program Manager, Oja is responsible for the development and delivery of programs and services to support the Syracuse Technology Garden’s innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship programs. This includes the budgeting, marketing, executing and tracking of programs such as The Clean Tech Center, Grants for Growth, NY Hotspot, and the TC Innovation Fund.
Previously, Katie worked at Syracuse University with the Institute for Veterans and Military Families, where she managed the overall operations and administration of the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) and the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans’ Families (EBV-F) programs. In that role, Katie worked with service-connected disabled veterans and their families to assist them in the transition from military life to business ownership. She delivered several local and national programs focused on training, education, and business development. Katie brings to The Tech Garden a range of skills including program management and development, mentoring, strategic planning, event planning and execution.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Katie holds BA degrees in both English Literature and Art History from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Before moving to Syracuse she lived and worked in Washington, DC, within the non-profit sector. Currently, Katie enjoys being an active participant in the community of Syracuse, serving as a board member on several local committees. She is also an avid spin cyclist, a cross-stitch fanatic, and a craft beer enthusiast. Katie lives in Syracuse’s Westcott neighborhood with her husband Matt, an attorney, and their two cats, Lewis and Maxwell.
