Grants
Grants for Growth, a program designed to link the region's universities with industry to spur innovation and job creation, got off to a fast start. First round awards for the program, which was created in October 2005, were made to support six university-industry collaborations with the potential to create more than 160 jobs.
The program is a major component of the Essential New York Initiative® - a strategy to transform the regional economy to one based on knowledge and technology. The Initiative was launched by the Metropolitan Development Association of Syracuse and Central New York (MDA) in February of 2004.
